PellNatur – Excellence in tanning, naturally!

Tanning converts easily putrescible, unstable hides into a resistant material that withstands primary bacterial attack as well as the mechanical and chemical processes of the wet-end. The result is leather that can be used for years or even decades. Although chromium tanning is a very safe and technically mature method, alternative tanning techniques are increasingly gaining attention among tanneries worldwide. At Pulcra, the initiative PellNatur channels all efforts towards alternative tanning schemes for different leather articles.

In the framework of PellNatur, Pulcra Chemists have developed an eco-friendly tanning system. The two product versions, CORATYL® G 85 and PELLUTAX White Tan 85 represent a further advancement of Pulcra‘s standard  zeolite product, which has been used in the leather industry for over three decades. The modification of the material has enhanced the product‘s performance, especially in the processing of thicker leathers. The result is significantly better penetration and uniform application, while also delivering excellent softness.

PellNatur is used to produce a wide variety of leather types. Applications include soft sofa leathers, automotive leathers, garments, glove leathers, and shoe upper leathers with superior softness and grain tightness.
